Use Street View in Google Maps

With Street View, explore world landmarks, see natural wonders, and step inside places such as museums, arenas, restaurants, or small businesses. You can use Street View in Google Maps and the Street View gallery.

Get to Street View in Google Maps

Here's how you can see Street View photos:

• Search for a place or address in Google Maps.
• Drag Pegman to a place on the map.
• Search for a place or address in Google search.

Search for a place or address in Google Maps

1. Open Google Maps.
2. Search for a place or click a place marker on the map.
3. On the left, select the photo with a Street View icon .
4. When you're done, go to the top left and click Back .

Use Pegman

1. Open Google Maps.
2. In the bottom right, click Pegman . Then, drag Pegman to the area you want to explore.
3. Unclick to drop Pegman on a blue line, blue dot, or orange dot on the map.
4. When you're done, go to the top left and click Back .

Use Google Search

1. Open Google search.
2. Search for a place or address.
3. Click the photo labeled "See outside."

Find street-level imagery from other dates

You can find street-level imagery taken at different times from the Street View archives and other contributors. For example, you can explore how your neighborhood has changed over time.

1. Drag Pegman onto the map.
2. Click Time .
3. At the bottom, use the slider to go further back in time.
4. To exit Street View, go to the top left and click Back .

Note: Historic imagery might not be available for every place that has Street View.

Explore Street View

• To move around, hover your cursor in the direction you want to go. Your cursor becomes an arrow that shows which direction you're moving.
• To see where you might go next, look for the X. Click once to travel to the X.
• To look around, click and drag your mouse. You can also use the arrows to the left and right of the compass.
• To zoom in or out, scroll with your mouse or two-finger zoom with a touchpad. You can also use + and - below the compass.
• To position your Street View north, go to the bottom right and click the compass.
• To jump between streets, go to the "Back to Map" window in the bottom left and click the blue highlighted routes.

Report a Street View issue

To report an image that should be censored or can be found offensive:

1. Locate the image.
2. Click More   Report a problem.
3. Select the issue and click Submit.
4. We'll review your report promptly.

Understand the Street View app deprecation

When will the Street View app be discontinued?

The Street View app is no longer available on Google Play and the App Store. If you already have the app on your mobile device, you can use it until March 2023. 

How else can I manage my published imagery?

If you delete the app from your mobile device, you won't be able to download it again. You'll continue to have access to all imagery you have published to Google Maps through other platforms.

• To view or delete any of your Photo Spheres, visit 'Your contributions' page on Google Maps.
• To view or delete any of your street-level collections or Photo Paths, visit Street View Studio.

How can I continue to publish imagery without the Street View app?

Although the app is going away, we have ensured that all your favorite features aren't, and have been integrated into other platforms.

• To capture Photo Spheres, use a compatible 360 camera, or if you prefer using only your mobile device, choose from a variety of 360 photo apps available on Google Play and the App Store.
• To publish Photo Spheres to a place, use the Google Maps app on your mobile device, the desktop version of Google Maps on your computer, or a 3rd party publishing tool. For a list of recommended publishing tools, see the Street View website.
• То create connections between Photo Spheres, use a 3rd party publishing tool. 
• To capture and publish street-level collections, use a compatible 360 camera and import the resulting files into our new Street View Studio platform, available on both desktop and mobile. 

Will I still be able to publish Photo Paths?

Capturing 180-degree videos to create Photo Paths for Street View was an experimental feature we introduced in 2019. The functionality will be deprecated permanently.
