Interact with viewers on Community posts

After you add posts to the Community tab on your channel, viewers can comment to respond. Learn how viewers can respond to your posts.

Note: Community post access can change based on your channel role. Learn more about channel permissions.

Find your Community posts

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Content.
  3. Tap the Posts tab.

Reply to comments on your posts

Reply to comments on your posts to create a conversation with your audience.

  1. Hover over a post and click Comments "" . You'll see the Post Comments page. 
  2. Select Reply below any comment.

You'll occasionally get notifications about comments on your Community posts unless you opt out. Learn how to manage your notifications.

Tip: To reply to the latest comments, click "" Sort by and then Newest first.

Pin a comment on your posts

You can choose a comment (your own or a viewer's) to stay at the top of the feed by pinning it. Pinning a comment makes it more visible to your audience.

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Content.
  3. Select the Posts tab.
  4. Hover over a post and click Comments "" . 
  5. Hover over the comment you want to pin.
  6. Click More Pin. If you already pinned a comment, this will replace it.
    Note: You can Unpin a comment at any time and the comment will move back to its original position.

Moderate comments on Community posts

You can hold comments on your Community posts for your review. Learn more about moderating comments.

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings.
  3. Select Community and then Defaults.
  4. Under "Comments on your channel," choose your setting.
  5. Select Save.

Add hearts to comments on posts

You can use a heart "" to show appreciation for a viewer's comments on your Community tab posts. Find the heart "" next to the thumbs up and thumbs down.

Viewers will see your picture and a small red heart on the lower left corner of their comment. Depending on their settings, they may also get a notification that a channel owner loved their comment.
