Create or edit lists on your phone
You can ask your Google Assistant to start a list for you.
Set a default list service
Let your Google Assistant create and edit lists in a service, like Google Keep.
- On your Android phone or tablet, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings."
- Under "All settings," tap Notes & Lists.
- Tap a service to set it as your default.
- If you don't want to sync your notes and lists with any provider, tap Don't Sync.
- To confirm, tap Continue.
Any new lists created with your Google Assistant will be visible on your default list service. Any lists you created with your Google Assistant before you set a default list service won't be available on that service.
Important: If you choose a third-party provider app as your default, that provider's app's privacy policy applies.
Create a list
- Say "Hey Google" or tap and hold the Home button to talk to your Assistant.
- Say a command. For example:
- "Start a list"
- "Make a list called 'To Do'"
Find your list

- "What's on my 'To Do' list?"
Edit your list

Fix issues with lists
Where are my old lists?
Lists you created with your Google Assistant before connecting to a lists service, like Keep, aren't migrated. Your Assistant will show you an aggregated view of lists created from both your Assistant and your list service.
If you have lists in both the Assistant and your lists service with the same name, your Assistant will start adding items to the list created in your lists service. For example, if you had a list called To Do list in Assistant and a list called To Do list in your lists service, your Assistant will add new items to the lists service To Do list.
Where is my Google Shopping list?
Google Shopping lists created before connecting to a lists service don't sync when you set up a default service.
After you've set a default lists service, your Google Shopping lists will show up in that provider's app. Your assistant will show you lists from both Google Shopping List and your lists service when you say "show all my lists."
Access lists you created with your Google Assistant
When you set a lists service as your default app, your Assistant shows you lists from both the list app and lists you created with your Google Assistant. To edit your Google Assistant lists:
- Open the Google Assistant app
.
- At the top right, tap your profile image or initial
