"ERROR_SUCCESS" error shows when you cancel a print job on a Windows 8-based or Windows Server 2012-based computer [MS]

Symptoms

Assume that you have a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012. You start a print job and then cancel the job in the middle of the printing process. In this situation, the GetLastError function returns the following error message:

ERROR_SUCCESS

The expected error message resembles the following:

ERROR_PRINT_CANCELLED

Therefore, the printing software returns an error message.

Note The error message varies, depending on the different printing software installed.

Cause

This issue occurs because the last error message is reset to "ERROR_SUCCESS" in the EndPagePrinter function.
