Filter websites and searches in Microsoft Edge [MS]

Establishing internet boundaries is an important way to protect yourself and your family from inappropriate web content. Microsoft Family Safety web and search filters work across any Windows, Xbox and mobile devices that have the Microsoft Edge browser and Family Safety apps installed. You can also explore a handpicked list of Microsoft's favorite family-friendly websites here!

To enjoy web and search filters, family members must use the Microsoft Edge browser while signed into their Microsoft accounts

To set up web and search filters, follow the steps below.

  1. Visit family.microsoft.com. Sign into your Family Safety account.

  2. Find your family member's name and click More options > Content Filters.

  3. Turn on Filter Inappropriate Websites toggle.

  4. To block specific sites, add their URLs under Blocked Sites.

  5. Grant access to specific sites by turning on Only use allowed websites toggle. Add URLs of approved websites under Allowed sites.

  1. Open the Microsoft Family Safety app.

  2. Tap your family member's name > Content filters.

  3. Tap Web and search.

  4. Turn on Filter inappropriate websites toggle.

  5. Grant access to specific sites by turning on Only use allowed websites toggle. Add URLs of approved websites under Allowed sites.

Default settings

By default, mature websites will be blocked and searches will be filtered in the Bing search engine. You can also view a family member's Bing search results through activity reporting.

Note: Family Safety web and search filters only work with Microsoft Edge. Turning on Filter inappropriate websites will block all other browsers.

Filter inappropriate apps and games on the Family Safety app [MS]

You can set up content filters for apps and games on Windows 10 and Xbox from the Family Safety app. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your account in the Family Safety app.

  2. Find your family member, then select their name > Content filters > Apps and games.

  3. Tap Allow apps and games rated if you want to change the default age. Anything over the content ratings you've decided on will need your approval before it's used.

  4. When they ask to use a blocked app or game, you can approve it and add it to the Always allowed list, or add something they use to the Never allowed list.

AW cross-device conv column - Search Ads 360 Help [gg-searchads-en]

AW cross-device conv column

The number of cross-device conversions, as recorded by Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

Cross-device conversions start as a click on a search ad on Google.com from one device and end as a conversion on another device (or in a different browser on the same device). The conversion can occur by customers accessing and navigating the advertiser's site directly, or by searching for the site and clicking a paid or organic result.

Note that these conversions are tracked only for Google Ads ads traffic on Google.com at this time.

You can use this column in a formula column by specifying the AW_Cross_device_conv_micros variable.

Add this column to a report
  1. Navigate to an advertiser, Google Ads engine account, or Google Ads campaign.
  2. Click the Engine accounts, Campaigns, or Ad groups tab.
Note that the Engine accounts tab is available only when you navigate to an advertiser, and the Campaigns tab is available only when you navigate to an advertiser or engine account.
  3. Select a time range.
  4. If the column isn't already in the reporting table:
    1. Click the Columns button above the performance summary graph.
    2. Next to Available columns, type the column name in the search box and press the Enter key.
    3. Click + next to the column name in the Available columns list.

Filter apps and games with Microsoft Edge [MS]

Enjoy peace of mind while younger family members explore online by establishing content filters. Content filters are an effective way to prevent access to mature web content, apps, and games. Set individual age limits within a family group to ensure family members only view age-appropriate material. App and game filters only work on Windows and Xbox devices operating Microsoft Edge - try it now!

To begin using app and game filters, follow the steps below.

  1. Visit family.microsoft.com and sign into your Microsoft account.

  2. Find your family member and click Content Filters

  3. Go to Apps and Games. Under Allow apps and games rated for, designate the age limit for content they will have permission to access.

  4. Approve blocked app or game requests by adding them to the Always allowed list under Content Filters

Note: To view content your family member is accessing without setting up content filters, go to the Activity page and switch on the Activity reporting toggle.

  1. Open the Microsoft Family Safety app.

  2. Find your family member and tap the Content filters card.

  3. Tap Apps and games.

  4. Tap the Apps and games bar and designate the age limit for content they will have permission to access.

  5. Tap the back arrow button in the top left corner of the screen to automatically update your family member's content age limit settings.

Note: If you approve a request for your family member to download an app or game above their age limit, it will appear under ALLOWED APPS. If you block an app or game, it will appear under BLOCKED APPS.

Edit or revoke application permissions in the My Apps portal [MS]

When you use work or school applications in the My Apps portal, you often are asked to grant permissions for an app, including permissions to save account information. To keep your data secure, you may want to review and revoke permissions or clear saved account credentials. Removing permissions or accounts may break some app functionality. If you have problems after you remove permissions or accounts, contact your work or school admin for additional assistance.

Important: This content is intended for users. If you're an administrator, you can find more information about how to set up and manage your cloud-based apps in the Application Management Documentation.

Manage app accounts

To view the apps consented to by you or your administrator, select ... when you hover over an app in the My Apps portal, then select Manage your application:

Manage an application in the My Apps portal

The top part of permissions window shows what you personally consented to. Examples of apps permissions include the ability to access your calendar, contacts, or camera.

You can revoke any of the permissions you consented to by selecting Revoke Permissions, however removing a permission may break some of the apps functionality. If you have problems after you remove permissions or accounts, contact your work or school admin for additional assistance.

Revoke permissions for an application in the My Apps portal

The bottom part of the permissions window shows what your administrator consented to on your behalf. This section isn't shown if there are no admin-consented permissions. You can't revoke these permissions because the administrator consented to them, and they're often required for your organization's policy.

Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app [MS]

Important:

The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign in to your accounts when you're using two-factor verification. Two-factor verification helps you to use your accounts more securely because passwords can be forgotten, stolen, or compromised. Two-factor verification uses a second factor like your phone to make it harder for other people to break in to your account. You can use the Microsoft Authenticator app in multiple ways:

Two-factor verification. The standard verification method, where one of the factors is your password. After you sign in using your username and password, you can either approve a notification or enter a provided verification code.

  • Phone sign-in. A version of two-factor verification that lets you sign in without requiring a password, using your username and your mobile device with your fingerprint, face, or PIN.

  • Code generation. As a code generator for any other accounts that support authenticator apps.

  • Authenticator works with any account that uses two-factor verification and supports the time-based one-time password (TOTP) standards.

Your organization might require you to use the Authenticator app to sign in and access your organization's data and documents. Even if your user name appears in the app, the account isn't set up as a verification method until you complete the registration. For more information, see Add your work or school account.

Download and install the app

  1. Install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app, based on your operating system:

  2. Google Android. On your Android device, go to Google Play to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.

  3. Apple iOS. On your Apple iOS device, go to the App Store to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Important: If you're not currently on your mobile device, you can still get the Microsoft Authenticator app if you send yourself a download link from the Microsoft Authenticator page.
